Never Underestimate a Momma Bear

Her power is magic…

As I scrolled through Facebook today, I came across a video of a 4th of July celebration that ended in horror — fireworks flying everywhere from someone’s driveway, explosions aimed where a crowd sat. Thankfully, they had a warning — one misfire that had them on their feet before all mayhem broke loose.

I write this to say that I watched the short video in its entirety and came away with one thought (okay, maybe two since I was thankful everyone made it to safety): women are amazing!!

Friends and family gathered on the front lawn while some were lighting fireworks on the curb, the overflow of pyrotechnics stashed on the driveway to the side. The picture I posted is the actual scene I’m describing. The woman in the red shirt and blue shorts got to that baby before the man in the white T-shirt who is sitting right next to that child.

At the first sign of a stray rocket, the woman bolts upright and has that baby out of the carrier before the man plants his feet on the ground. I don’t point this out to say the man is lazy or doesn’t care. I’m also not saying that women are better parents. I merely want to point out how differently we are wired as men and women.

Women are born with that gut instinct that men simply do not have. It’s magic, and I rely on it daily. I am beyond grateful to possess it. Men have their gifts too but “women’s intuition” isn’t one of them.

The video I watched made that abundantly clear.

We all have our gifts.

Let’s use them together to help each other.

We need to come together and use the tools we were born with while we spend the rest of our days on Mother Earth.
